Buying a mattress in a box has become a very popular trend over the last few years, it seems like the best option as it is easy delivery and offers a sleep trial too, but what is the difference between a mattress in a box and the standard traditional mattress the rest of the population go for?
The traditional mattress comes ready to go and ready to sleep in. It comes direct from a factory to your front door. A traditional mattress doesn’t roll or lose its shape and most likely would be a pocket sprung mattress which is full of support and better for your joints and body and of course a good night sleep.
It is very straightforward, it is a mattress in a box that’s comes to your door in a convenient sized box. The mattress inside would be all memory foam which means it can be compressed and rolled up and packed to fit into a box. Once taken out the mattress unfolds and expands to its full size.
The Pros and Cons of a mattress in a box -
Easy to assemble
The mattress in a box helps customers who may find it hard to drag a regular sized mattress upstairs and set up.
Free sleep trial
A lot of companies order a free trial to sleep on the mattress to make sure you are happy with the choice you made.
Finding a good deal
The mattress in a box is being sold everywhere, which means finding a bargain is very likely as each company competes with each other, they will also be competing by offering different discounts and offers.
Too much memory foam
When people hear memory foam they automatically think of heat. The issue with this is memory foam just may not suit some people. Too much memory foam causes a lot of adults to overheat at night and sweat and it would be too hot for them which leads to a bad night sleep with tossing and turning and kicking blankets off.
No pocket count
No pocket sprung option would be the biggest disadvantage to the mattress in a box which is made up entirely of memory foam because of this it means it doesn’t have much support or firmness to it. The more pockets in a mattress means they is a lot more support and firmness to and that you just aren’t sinking into a mattress.
Free Sleep Trial
As much as the free sleep trial is a pro, it is also a con. Many companies advertise you can have a sleep trial and money back guaranteed if you don’t like it, but that is not the case, a lot of information is in the terms and conditions of these deals and sometimes it is the customer that loses out and can’t return the mattress.
It all comes down to customer preference and of course what suits customers needs, my opinion personally would be I would rather have be able to see my mattress at my door in full than in a box.
